Through his immense passion and hard work, he has transformed his brainchild into one of the country’s premier bull-riding competitions.

Revolutionizing rodeo in Calgary

A competition that keeps getting better each year and will soon celebrate 25 years of existence is no small feat. This year, the Cody Snyder Bullbustin has already been sold out for two and a half months, and the famed rider cannot be more proud. According to the Calgary Sun’s latest report, he said“We always thought we could build one to make it this big, but it’s really turned into something special.”

The champion rider reiterated that he had always envisioned creating a rodeo competition of this stature. In addition to the thrill his event brings to the adrenalin-filled people of Calgary, his competition has also been able to raise funds for charity. Somewhere in the range of $3 million.

Cody also revealed the names of the charities that will benefit from his 4-night event: The Canadian Mental Health Association Calgary, Special Olympics Canada, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and LUNA Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, as well as the Tsuut’ina Nation Youth Programs.

Snyder also extended his thanks to the Tsuut’ina Nation and said, “To have the partnership that we have here with the beautiful Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on the Tsuut’ina Nation is awesome.” Cody Snyder’s Bullbustin’ is the reward of his own blood, sweat, and tears over the course of his exemplary career. Like when he made history in 1983.

Snyder’s legacy of excellence

Back in 1983, Cody Snyder made history when he became the first Canadian to win the PRCA’s World Champion Bull Rider title at the tender age of 20. This year, the bull rider made history again. He became the first Canadian to be inducted into the Bull Riding Hall of Fame.
