In the equestrian world, alongside the Olympics, several other top-tier events have gained popularity over the years. To mention one, the Longines Global Champions Tour is the most iconic show jumping series. It brings the best show jumpers under the same roof, all rooting for the Championship title.

Earlier this year, at the €480,000 Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Stockholm, Henrik von Eckermann stood atop the podium in the Swedish capital. Moreover, stressing his stellar performance, the scores were better than in 2021. Now, LGCT has a new update for another Stockholm blast next year.

Equestrian LGCT series announces the opening of entry gates

Longines Global Champions Tour took to their Instagram handle to post the most awaited. Captioned as “Who remembers just how incredible Stockholm….You can now register for interest to join us at The Olympic Stadium again in 2024!” Venue for the 1912 Olympic Games, the Stockholm stadium is used to having a full stadium often.

Having said so, the Stockholm event will take place from 28th to 30th June 2024. Three days of nerve-wracking displays and star-stud podiums. Winners from each of the 16 Grand Prix get selected to defend their title in the final round in Prague. A week ago, on 16th November, the final LGCT Grand Prix had declared its winner, and it didn’t come as a surprise to the equestrian world.

Julien Epaillard stands atop

Moving past 16 golden ticket winners from 16 Grand Prix events, the French show jumper galloped to victory. This year, the US star Jessica Springsteen represented her nation with a power routine. But couldn’t do much competing alongside Epaillard. In fact, two-time Grand Prix winner Eckermann also couldn’t stand his ground with a gold finish. LGCT took to its Instagram story to post, “@harasdelabosquetterie Has done it!!! He’s won the LGCT Super Grand Prix!!!”

Julien Epaillard at 46 had some finesse to display at the €100,000, LGCT Grand Prix of Ramatuelle St. Tropez, where he secured his berth at Prague. The 46-year-old had expressed his ecstasy, saying, “It was amazing tonight, it’s a special atmosphere, it’s a special victory for me today.” Now, as the Longines Global Champions Tour 2024 nears, the fanatics and the equestrians have nothing but hope in their eyes.
