Yuzuru Hanyu to make a comeback

Hanyu’s failed attempt to land the much anticipated, first-ever quadruple axle in a competition meant he wouldn’t finish on the podium for the first time in the three Olympics. He previously won gold in the 2014 and 2018 winter games.

The attempt left Hanyu injured and unable to take part in last month’s figure skating World Championships in France. It also caused him to miss most of the 2021 Grand Prix season. Yuzuru has remained silent since the shocking incident in February. However, the legendary figure skater is finally returning to the rink.

With his ankle issues in the rearview mirror, Hanyu will take part in all four stops of the Fantasy on Ice tour in Japan. The four stops include- Makuhari, Chiba (May 27-29), Nagoya (June 3-5), Kobe (June 17-19), and Shizuoka (June 24-26).

Notably, Hanyu is not yet sure of what the future holds for him. During his press conference after the Beijing Olympics, he hinted that he may still participate in the Milano Cortina Winter Games in 2026.
