A recent Reddit post shared by the famous community “Gymnastics” reshared a glimpse of Thorpe’s post where he expressed his views on not getting qualified for the Paris Olympics. After the results of the Artistic Gymnastics Oceania Championship came in, it broke many hearts, along with Thrope. The young Australian gymnast was a mere 0.768 points away from qualification.

The 23-year-old gymnast wrote, “My heart hurts but my head is held,” in his Instagram post. He further shared that this is not how he imagined his future journey would look. Thorpe mentioned, “I couldn’t have worked harder over these last 6 months and even despite a few small errors.” He referred to all his hard work and the improvements he made as a “testament to everything I have put in.

Despite not getting qualified, the young athlete showcased true sportsmanship, congratulating his fellow Australian gymnast, Jesse Moore. Moore qualified for the Paris Olympics, and Thorpe wrote, “Your hard work and perseverance is an inspiration and you deserve this.” However, the 23-year-old fans were in shock after witnessing him not getting the ticket to Paris and filled the comment section with sad comments.
