However, the Oilers and the NHL fans were deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Ben on August 10. It was a huge loss for the Oilers as they would never see his glittering eyes while seeing them play.

Recently, on 9 December, Ben’s father Mike and Sarah announced a special fund in their son’s name, Ben Stelter Fund. The foundation aims to honor the life of free-spirited and courageous Ben Stelter along with helping children fight cancer.

Two months before his fifth birthday, Ben was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. The little one went through multiple surgeries and radiation to fight cancer. However, he could not fight the disease for a longer time. On 9 August 2022, his father announced his demise on Twitter, saying;

Mom and I are so proud of you. You had a bigger heart than anyone we’ve ever met. Our hearts are left with a Ben-sized hole in them and life will never be the same without you. We are absolutely crushed.”
