A perfect portrayal of the famous saying, “Records are meant to be broken” was witnessed by the world when the match between Winnipeg Jets and Philadelphia Flyers ended with a score of 5–3 in favor of the Jets. This match became the host of a historic performance from Danish player Nikojai Ehlers. The 26-year-old ring winger scored the 168th goal of his NHL career.

With this, he became the most successful Danish player in the history of NHL sports, surpassing the legendary ice hockey player, Frans Neilsen. Neilsen had announced his retirement from professional ice hockey last year after the IIHF World Championship. This has given Ehlers an opportunity to further expand his lead as there is a long career ahead for the rising star.

It has been a very proud moment for Ehlers and his country as he had marked his impressions on the global sport. The 26-year-old is receiving appreciation globally when his Facebook page of the Winnipeg Jets posted a photo describing his historic feat. 

Fans have filled the comment section with applause and motivation for the rising star. Many fans highlighted the fact that it’s just the beginning of his career and there are a lot of chances he could become one the greatest to ever play the sport.  “He still has lots of years and is a great player. Well done Ehlers”, the guy wrote.

Another Winnipeg fan found it lucky that his favorite team had him on the playing squad. He wrote, “We are glad you’re on the Winnipeg Jets team!!! A die-heart fan of Ehler gave him a strong title. “KING OF DENMARK”, he wrote.

One fan of his couldn’t get enough of his temperament and courage. “I love you so much! You’ve worked really hard over the years to reach this achievement! Everything that you do on the ice puts the defenders on their heels. I’m so proud of you, I’m your biggest fan and congrats, ” she wrote.
