These companies not only contribute financially but also enhance the Olympic experience through extensive marketing and direct support to athletes and events. Omega SA, known for keeping time at the Olympics since 1932, has launched a major campaign for Paris 2024, showcasing the city as a vibrant backdrop for sporting events. This campaign is designed to highlight Omega’s role in not just timekeeping but also in enhancing the overall Olympic experience through storytelling on TV and online platforms.

The Olympic Games in Paris will be set against famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées. However, a crucial concern remains: has Paris resolved the long-standing issue of cleaning up the Seine River, where swimming events will take place, to ensure it’s safe for athletes?

Can the Paris Olympics maintain the cleanliness of the Seine River for swimming?

Paris has long harbored the ambition of making the Seine clean enough for swimming aspirations, often dismissed as impossible. Yet, a few days back, Mayor Anne Hidalgo turned this dream into a reality. With cheers echoing, she took a dip in the river. “It’s sweet and wonderful,” she remarked, reflecting on the journey that began with her campaign for the 2024 Olympics. The success, marked by stringent tests and a €1.4bn infrastructure investment, now opens the Seine to triathlon and marathon events.

Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 organizing committee, lauded the milestone, emphasizing how it complements the athletes’ experiences and accelerates the city’s transformation. This historic feat fulfills Jacques Chirac’s unmet promise from 1990. As the saying goes, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way,” and Paris has shown the world what determination can achieve, turning a seemingly impossible task into a shining example of success.
