On January 24th, 2023, Mikaela Shiffrin finally surpassed Lindsey Vonn to create a new World Cup record with her 83rd title. While many people celebrated Shiffrin’s triumph, including the former skiing legend, some tried to initiate a non-existent rivalry between the two. However, this is nothing new for the two skiers.

Hence, Vonn, who has always been supportive of her compatriot, decided to shut down the haters with just one tweet. Here is how Vonnm showed why she is a legend.

While many rejoiced about Shiffrin’s victory, a user on Twitter saw this as an opportunity to disrespect Vonn’s accomplishments and provoke her against her fellow skier.

The person wrote, “Congrats #MikaelaShiffrin for overtaking #LindseyVonn with her with her 83rd victory. Was about time to push that unlikable person from the throne.”

The tweet caught Vonn’s attention, and instead of letting the troll get away with the comment, she gave him a wise comeback. “I must be horribly unlikable. Maybe we lift each other up instead of tearing others down. Proud of Mikaela. Not proud of your comments and I’m sure she’d feel the same. Have a lovely day,” Vonn replied.

The legendary skier’s fans and followers rushed to her support and applauded Vonn for her “savage” reply.  Soon after Shiffrin’s historic success, the entire sports world rejoiced with joy and wished the athlete for her achievement.
