Despite Ashe’s impressive athletic accomplishments, such as winning a bronze medal for Nigeria in the men’s 4×400 meters at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and holding the title of national 100-meter champion, his reputation has been overshadowed by involvement in legal issues. In June 2023, he achieved a new personal best by running 9.96 seconds in the 100m at the NCAA Championships held in Texas. However, his entanglement in legal matters contributes to a troubling pattern of Nigerian athletes being implicated in fraud scandals abroad.
