Billionaire LeBron James and USWNT Star Megan Rapinoe United With a Champagne Glass After Donald Trump’s Defeat in 2019

The USWNT sensation Megan Rapinoe has stolen the show from time to time due to her bold personality. Despite facing heavy backlashes, the soccer star knows her way of dealing with them. Like her hair color, her way of celebrating her victory after games is unique.

Similarly, once Rapinoe was captured celebrating a victory unrelated to her game. In addition, she was accompanied by the legendary NBA player LeBron James.

In 2019, the soccer star played the FIFA Women’s World cup and made her team win the match with her vigorous efforts. However, apart from the celebration, Rapinoe has a political drama going on in her life. Megan said she would never go to the White House in one of her statements earlier.

Seeing her statement, Former President Donald Trump invited the whole team to the White House. However, Rapinoe told Eight by Eight magazine, “Not going to the f*cking White House.”

Meanwhile, Trump said, “I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!”

After some time, as Trump lost his chances in the election, Megan celebrated the victory with James. They were stopped at ESPYs 2019 award ceremony, sipping on some champagne. The picture made their fans go crazy on social media. 

What went wrong between Megan and Trump

All these incidents started after Rapinoe decided to protest during the national anthem. Megan kneeled on her knees while the national anthem of the U.S. was playing before a match. The gesture by the soccer star hurt the sentiments of many people, who then later called out her patriotism. However, Rapinoe did it as a protest against the racial discrimination and police brutality that was increasing on a large scale in the country. 

However, the outcome was harsh on Rapinoe and her family. Once her mother recited how many places like restaurants removed her pictures that previously were used as inspiration. But Megan remained unaffected by the critics and did her best to remain peaceful. Later, in 2022, Megan was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by United States President Joe Biden. Other athletes like Simone Biles accompanied her.
