

Shaun White is now officially retired from international snowboarding. The champion bid farewell to the sport in the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Although the ending of his career wasn’t as spectacular as his entire career, he has given enough moments to the fans to cherish for a lifetime. After the retirement, the legend is very occupied with interviews and media asking questions about his post-retirement life.

In his final run at the Beijing Winter Olympics, the 35-year-old American snowboarder secured fourth place in the halfpipe event, which he has dominated for over 20 years. The five-time Olympian has won three gold medals in the Olympics. Now that he is retired, everyone wants to know the reason behind his retirement and what he is going to do next.

Former US president Barack Obama inspired Shaun White
The three-time Olympic gold medalist recently visited the James Corden show; the host, James, asked him about what inspired him to take retirement; Shaun White replied with an amazing answer. He said, “You know when I was thinking of the retirement; I kept thinking of actually Obama when he left the office,” and the audience couldn’t stop laughing at his reply.
The Olympic champion further added, “Suddenly him on jet ski and a straw hat. I thought I want to be doing that. I would be like chucking a celsius. I mean, that’s where I am headed.”
It’s great to see that even after leaving office, the former president Barack Obama is still inspiring many people.

Life after retirement for White
It’s still the early days of retirement for Shaun White, and he is utilizing his time aptly between talk shows, interviews, family, and doing things he always wanted to do. The olympian went to the Super Bowl right after returning from Beijing. He has prepared a bucket list on his girlfriend’s suggestion and is now taking things off that list one at a time.
However, Shaun has announced nothing on his career front so far, but it seems he has a lot of options to choose from- Teaching young snowboarders is always an option. Moreover, he could also go back to skateboarding with his mentor and friend Tony Hawk.
