Mikaela Shiffrin is easily one of the best skiers in the history of the sport. She recently added to her wins tally with a record-extending 90th World Cup success on the slopes in Killington, Vermont. Shiffrin won the slalom race, beating her closest competitor by 0.33 seconds, according to The Guardian.

In March, Mikaela Shiffrin went past Sweden’s Ingemar Stenmark’s record of 86 World Cup wins. That stood as the record in skiing across genders for 34 years. In January, Shiffrin went past Lindsey Vonn’s record of 82 World Cup victories. She shows no signs of slowing down.

After the win, Mikaela Shiffrin took to X and shared a picture of herself holding aloft her skis triumphantly. She addressed her fans with the words, “Y’all made this one real special.” Shiffrin followed that with the hashtag #stifelusskiteam. She delighted the cheering crowd with her exploits down the slopes once more.

That made it 90 wins from 254 starts for Mikaela Shiffrin. It was as close to home as she will get for a while, though miles from Edwards, Colorado. As per The Guardian, Shiffrin spent time as a teenager at the Burke Mountain Academy near Killington. That was where she painstakingly honed her craft.

The fans responded eagerly to the shout-out from Mikaela Shiffrin. They praised her to the skies in reply to that tweet while terming her a special talent. Their response was overwhelmingly positive. One fan praised his good fortune to be in the position to see history made. He wrote, “More history in the making! I am so fortunate to be witnessing this. Thank you, Mikaela.”

Another fan termed every move she made down the slopes a sight to behold, writing, “Watching you enjoy each moment & savor every run is something so wonderful. Love it!” Yet another fan thanked Shiffrin for making his daughter’s day. He wrote, “Thanks for taking the time to sign so many autographs, Mikaela. You made the day particularly special for my little girl!” One more fan wrote, “Amazing to watch you. What an inspiration you are.” Lastly, one fan sent a salutation Shiffrin’s way with the words, “All Hail the Queen!!!!!”
