

Carli Lloyd is a big name in the US soccer world. While she no longer competes professionally, she hasn’t completely said goodbye to the football. Certainly, this doesn’t mean that you’d be seeing her in the next FIFA World Cup or the Olympics playing for US women’s national team. What it means is that the champion is now hooked on to a similar or perhaps completely different game, like soccer.

In August 2021, the 39-year-old American soccer player Carli Lloyd bid farewell to the game of soccer. She gave 12 years of her life to the game and during her career, she scored 134 goals for the US soccer team.

How did Carli Lloyd ended up playing Teqball post retirement?
After saying goodbye to soccer, Carli has now indulged herself in Teqball. It’s a very recent game, that is a combination of soccer and table tennis. When asked about how she got into Teqball, Carli replied, “I actually saw it on social media. Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, David Beckham, Neymar were playing during the pandemic.”

The Olympic champion further added, “It’s actually really hard, but it’s really beneficial because I’ve been someone who grew up playing soccer and tennis. Then here we are, grateful and honored to be the first female ambassador for Teqball USA. It’s pretty cool.”
It’s actually fun for Carli to still be able to play something close to soccer even if it is on a tennis table.
Life post retirement
Carli Lloyd has led an amazing career. She has represented the US in the four Olympics and in two of them, the team brought home gold medals. The Olympic champion was also part of the FIFA world cup winning team.

Carli has also been the FIFA Player of the Year two-times. As for post-retirement life, Carli said, “I feel just really at peace and content.”
