The festive seasons can’t get worse with a little friendly competition. Or can it? Turkey Trots is an annual marathon in the city of Troy in New York, touted after the famous bird of the season. This year’s version has brought the highest number of crowds since 2017. An unexpected situation occurred at the finishing line that left the audience baffled. The unprecedented scenario saw people trying hard to hold back their laughter as a participant seemed more focused on making life difficult for his peers instead of trying to focus on his performance.

This year’s Turkey Trot winner recently hinted that the Olympics trial might be on the table. However, others weren’t all that ambitious. In a recently surfaced video, one participant at the 76th New York Turkey Trot was seen transforming into a woeful pothole for another.

NBC Sports Director Travis Miller shared a video clip with a humorous caption, “Some people take turkey trots VERY seriously”. In the clip, one Turkey Trot runner is seen frantically leaning against a comrade right near the finish line. After considerable time spent jostling, both the aggressor and the unfortunate receiver on the other end are seen taking a topple together. Fortunately, the tumble happened after the duo crossed the finish line. While the two weren’t in any position to finish on the podium, their clash left the attendees gasping for their breath.

The video on X, also shows a person narrowly escaping a fall while trying to take a picture of two of the runners as they were nearing the finish line. A few yards out, one runner starts to veer into another just as they are fast coming onto the end line. Both the runners end up on the ground just as they cross the finish line. They also slam into the barricades, leaving the stranger flabbergasted at the unprecedented nature of the situation.
