Among his greatest fans is Hamda AlHosani, who won gold in the 100 meters too. Recently, at the Dubai Expo 2020, Hamda’s dream to meet her favorite athlete came true.

Turns out, the UAE Special Olympics athletics member’s, Hamda’s favorite athlete, is Usain Bolt. Bolt’s achievements inspired her to follow her dream.

Bolt got to know about how big of a fan AlHosani was. Bolt connected on a video call and appreciated her hard work. He also thanked her for considering him an idol and acknowledged the fact that she’s an inspiration too.

“For me I just want you to know, you have inspired a lot of people also around the world. You have overcome so much,” said Bolt.

“I’m very happy that my work and hard work has inspired you to do so well and it shows that you have also worked hard.”

Fulfilling her dream, Bolt invited Hamda for a charity run in Dubai recently. It is well said that we often tend to ignore the hero inside ourselves. Bolt and Hamda, both have proved their enthusiasm towards the sport.

The Emirati sprinter is suffering from epilepsy. But her dedication and eagerness to add new medals to her accolade have not faded.

The athlete achieved 17 Olympic medals and won gold at the Special Olympic Games. Being Bolt’s fan, Hamda recorded a video message for Bolt where she explained why she admires him and his work.

“Dear Usain, today I would like to thank you for being my source of inspiration. Watching you break world records have helped pushed me to new levels in my own running,” said Hamda.

“You taught me that once we believe in ourselves, we become unstoppable. Thank you for being my hero.”

Meeting Usain Bolt was one of  AlHosani’s biggest dreams. He has acted as an inspiration for her and will continue to do so.
