Etching targets for double tournament wins, Pogačar mentioned adopting new cycling strategies this year. While kicking off his 2024 racing season with Strade Bianche on March 2, his schedules spoke volumes. Skipping the Classics, he further aimed to stay fresh and focus on the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.

While the calculated risk of this cycling approach has been undeniable, it potentially paved the way for him to emulate Marco Pantani’s 1998 dual victory. With his cycling stances underscoring a belief in simulating racing intensity, Pogačar emphasized the need for growth through extensive training. In a candid acknowledgment of his saddleback career, the seasoned athlete remarked, “It’s a pretty good life being a cyclist; we shouldn’t complain too much”, while elaborating, “If you like it, you can still face obstacles and get over them.”
