Accidents are unfortunately an inevitable part of our lives. But often accidents take a turn towards a life-altering collision. But when such an incident befalls an athlete in the twilight years of their life, the impact is magnified. 

In a recent incident, similar narrative has unfolded in the life of a resilient human spirit. In the quiet and serene countryside of Cheshire the world of a cyclist collided with a van leaving the man in a catastrophic situation. The news of the accident spread like wildfire. Since then several questions have been lingering in the minds of the cycling community. What has led to such an accident? Was this just a fateful incident or something more sinister? Let’s delve into the gripping incident.

Twist of fate as vans collided against a bike

Last Tuesday, a 75-year-old cyclist was cycling in the streets of Bartington, near Northwich. As the evening was approaching, at about 16:25 BST the cyclist faced a harrowing turn in his life. He was hit by a white van that was trailing a tower then.

Police were immediately informed. As they arrived at the scene of the accident they found the cyclist in a fatal condition. He was immediately taken in an air ambulance and was admitted to Aintree Hospital in Merseyside. Even before he could be admitted to the hospital he had to be treated by paramedics. 

On a seemingly ordinary Tuesday, destiny dealt a harsh blow to the cyclist at the juncture of Smithy Lane and Runcorn Road. The condition of the cyclist has been currently reported as “life-threatening”. But fortunately, the driver of the van was uninjured as has been reported by the cops.

The investigation is still underway. Inspector Steve Griffith said, “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we’re committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.” Eye witnesses of the accident have been urged to contact the police. 

Night ride nightmare in Kansas City

Recently another incident sent shockwaves in the cycling community. A 25-year-old cyclist in Kansas City dealt with a tragic fate. Maria Chavez-Morales went out for a night ride. Her life too took a tragic turn at the intersection of E. Schulman Ave. and US Highway 83.

Morales was hit by a car while she was cycling in the area of Garden City and ran a red light at the crossing. The car was being driven by a 36-year-old man. He was driving Southbound on the U.S. highway.

Unfortunately, things went completely out of hand as young Morales was declared dead by the local police department.
