Creativity plays an important role not only in discovering new ideas but also contributes to innovation. However, getting overly creative on platforms like Strava is a trend that is unheard of. Interestingly, recent updates have portrayed that the Belgian cycling icon, Wout Van Aert takes creativity to the next level while naming his Strava files. Usually, Strava provides generic tags like ‘Afternoon ride’, and ‘Morning Ride’ for their users to name their content. While most of the subscribers are content with the offering, Aert has taken his creativity to the next level.

While spending his time in Mallorca, Spain, perfecting his craft, the Belgian cyclist has garnered everyone’s attention with the choice of titles for his Strava files. So what exactly did Aert name his files? Is there a hidden meaning behind all of that?

“Listen officer, it’s too beautiful a day”, “there’s nothing that can stink as much as your rotten mind”, “I really feel like I’m in the tropics” – No, these are not lines of random poetry but some Strava tags of Wout Van Aert as he uploaded his recent training videos. Soon after being uploaded, fans have tried to speculate about the possible meaning of the tags. They even went deeper to try and find out the hidden meaning, if any.

After taking a closer look at the tags, which were originally posted in Dutch, these lines were found to be from Dutch songs. To elaborate more on the mystery, Aert picked up lines from the songs that he took a liking to while training with his teammates in Spain. The 29-year-old recently appeared in an interview with Studio Brussel, a Belgian radio station, where he spoke more about the recent Strava updates. The cyclist also mentioned in a lighter tone that naming his files seemed more of a challenging task in recent times.

Aert also spilled the beans that he loved to give unique names to his uploaded files and has been continuing the process for quite some time. The 29-year-old also said he, along with Julien Vermote and Tiesj Benoot, started humming a song by the Belgian band, ‘Fixkes’.  He said, That stuck, and I often use something like that for titles on Strava. Then I came up with the idea to title all training sessions in Mallorca with a sentence from a Dutch song.”

While the Belgian is likely to continue with his newfound creative tasks, let’s look at some fun compilation of Wout Van Aert’s music taste.

A stand-out lyric captured from Aert’s tags was, “dear tiger, I give you everything”. This was part of a 1992 song, “I was once a soldier”, produced by ‘Gorki’, the Belgian band. On diving deeper into the composition of the song, it was found that it had a guitar lick similar to ‘Fast Car’. As the song progressed, the bass and the drums kicked in, constituting a soothing melody, quite contrasting to the heavy metallic and vibrant beats of recent times.
