With eyes full of high-soaring dreams, Josh Ellison emerged as an esteemed adventurer, marking his name in paragliding trips. Embodying the essence of living fearlessly, his story as an entrepreneur and a cherished family man had its fair share of achievements. Sadly, the 44-year-old recently met with a sudden accident, resulting in his tragic demise. 

On October 17, the paragliding enthusiast was soaring through the winds, with a 30-year-old client when fate took a shocking turn. As they crashed against a hang glider, Ellison was left with a swirl, falling down after the unprecedented mishap. While the woman survived this accident, the paragliding guide was declared unresponsive. After the stinging news surfaced, his heartbroken family was left in grief, unable to absorb the loss. 

A tragic stance in paragliding community

Known for his commitment to thrilling passions, Ellison’s journey transcended the ordinary, elevated by his zest for life aside from his tireless dedication to something new. His entrepreneurial spirit knew no bounds, commencing a fruitful journey at 24 with the inception of JE Illusions. The venture delved into custom motorcycle paintings and airbrushing, where Josh’s creative prowess paved the way for a glorious future.

Crafting bespoke truck grilles and custom parts, he then started working for Royalty Core, a series of hard-earned milestones that set him as a goal-maker. Soon, Ellison’s penchant for adventures extended far beyond business endeavors, where Park City became his haven. There, he not only pursued his love for paragliding but also embraced mentoring, generously imparting wisdom to budding enthusiasts. 

Heartbroken family mourns sudden loss

As an avid outdoorsman, Josh reveled in a plethora of adrenaline-pumping activities, from mountaineering and ice climbing to dirt biking and snowboarding. Acknowledging his unparalleled versatility with saddening words, his wife of 22 years, Brianne Ellison mentioned, “He was good at everything he did,” adding, “And yes he was sweet.” However, paragliding was Josh’s forte, an endeavor that he acclaimed with passion.

Winning accolades at national competitions like the X contest, Ellison earned the trust of fellow paragliding members at jumps, utilizing his expertise in tandem flying. His unforgiving departure noted an abrupt end, leaving a void in the hearts of many who knew him. Despite the catastrophic incident, Josh’s legacy persisted through the indelible impact he created on the paragliding community.

A memorial flight was organized at PC Hill, a cherished spot from his ventures, serving as a poignant homage to his adventurous spirit and the connections he forged. Josh Ellison’s story was etched with aspirations, and achievements while depicting a heart devoted to family and adventures. While his dreams remain unfulfilled, Josh’s portrayal of courage was a testament to a life well-lived, stirring others to embrace life’s adventures with open hearts.
