For today’s video, the incident transpired on a football pitch. Onlookers were amazed after a remarkable display of presence of mind saw a footballer make a thumping touchdown. As the crowds cheered at the remarkable achievement, their joy was soon cut short by the referee. 

Anguish followed after the decision, and the team looked dejected. At first glance, if you see the video, it would look like a legitimate touchdown point. Jubilation turns into anguish as referee disapproves of stellar NFL feat

The video was uploaded on Instagram by House of Highlights. The opening seconds of the video portrayed the scene of an intense NFL match going on between two teams. From the looks of it, the match was probably played between college athletes as everyone looked quite younger. One of the teams was playing with white jerseys and red shorts while their opponents were clad in all-black. 

Amidst the high-voltage drama, an athlete from the black team made an impressive run and found himself in acres of space. The athlete, wearing a no. 1 jersey, caught the ball to perfection and began sprinting to the touchline, much to the delight of the fans. As the opponent team came in hot pursuit, they fell short as the athlete was too quick. Expectedly, the athlete with the ball tumbled over the touchline and looked very happy to score an incredible touchdown. Unfortunately, that was the last time when the athlete would smile.

Well, the NFL rule does mention that to earn a touchdown, the ball, along with the player, must go beyond the imaginary vertical plane above the opposing team’s goal line. We’re not sure from the video, but it was a tight call.
