Adventure sports give us the thrills and we all enjoy the momentary adrenaline rush. However, the element of risk involved in the same often makes us think about how worthy it is to risk everything. A little slip here and there can result in the deadliest of mishaps. A recent incident that came to light portrayed similar concerns. 

In a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, we can see an unfortunate failure of epic proportions. The extent of the event was such that it made everyone pray for the entangled soul. Let’s delve into today’s story and soak in the horror that transpired. 

Jump goes horribly wrong as paratrooper dangles mid-air

The initial phase of the video did not hint a bit at the terrifying turn that it would take. It seemed a calm morning with an airplane filled with experienced paratroopers. From the looks of it, we can understand that the troopers were getting ready to jump out of the plane. For those unaware, jumping out of an airplane is a routine drill you have to practice as part of paratrooper training. 

All the troopers buckled up, attaching their parachute to their suits firmly, ready for the descent. As the camera panned towards the jumping spot, everything seemed normal. The troopers did not have any problem jumping out with their parachutes opening in time. However, tragedy struck as one of the team member’s parachute got stuck. He immediately jolted back and continued to dangle outside the plane terrifyingly. As the person was left helpless, shouts of his mates from inside the plane could be heard. 

The paratrooper continued to dangle with the visuals getting even more disturbing. The strong wind made the trooper swirl mid-air continuously in a dangerous manner. Although we do not have a confirmed report on further developments, we heartily wish for a speedy rescue of the unfortunate person. 

Such a heart-wrenching video caught the attention of the internet. They made their voices heard.

The users could not believe their eyes when they came across the video. The shocked audience was quick to react and seemed rightly worried about the well-being of the paratrooper.

One of the users commented, “Holy sh*t, did he make it?”

“What happened next?”, wrote another user enquiring about what followed the incident.

While another user sharing his concern commented, “Did he make it? 😳😳😳😳😳”

“And he ain’t gonna jump no mooooooore”, commented another user, referring to the fact that after such a dangerous mishap, the paratrooper will probably avoid attempting such stunts.

While another user sharing his own similar experience shared, “This is a normal thing. It’s called being a towed jumper. Happened once to me, they pull you back in after the drop zone ends. If they can’t they cut you free and you pull your reserve chute.”

Life is uncertain. We must all live each day to its fullest and be thankful for whatever we have. It might seem like a petty ask, but you never know when you find yourself dangling from a plane, mid-air, and with no protection!
