It was a game against Liverpool, and Chelsea was battling for glory at the Anfield Stadium. They had already lost their star player, Frank Lampard, after a controversial send-off by referee Mike Reiley.
With a 1-0 lead going into stoppage time, substitute player Yossi Benayoun set out to kill time by taking the ball into the corner. Miffed with their time-wasting tactics, Bosingwa ran towards him and kicked him in the back as Didier Drogba tried to get the ball.
