Polar Plunge continues to reach new heights

Since its inception in 2007, the Alexandria Polar Plunge has been a shining example of generosity, raising an impressive $1.1 million for the Special Olympics Minnesota.

In addition to spearheading the event’s organization, Melrose goes above and beyond by actively participating in the cause, serving on the executive council and building meaningful connections along the way.

A true testament to the ingenuity and dedication of Alexandria, a remarkable partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics has flourished under Melrose’s leadership. This collaborative effort all started by chance. A random encounter at a Torch Run event resulted in the creation of a striking squad car wrap that proudly showcases Alexandria’s support for Special Olympics.

As the Polar Plunge draws near, the community’s excitement and kindness radiate with renewed vigor. With every dive into icy waters and every contribution made, Alexandria proudly exhibits its unwavering commitment to empathy.

Despite the harshness of winter, the Polar Plunge serves as a powerful testament to the enduring strength of community.
