Essentially Sports: Virat Kohli’s Weekly IPL Salary Rivals Highest Premier League Transfer

The Premier League transfer window ended on Thursday, September 1st with Romelu Lukaku going to Manchester United for the highest price of Rs 1.6 crore. Alexandre Lacazette went to Arsenal for the same amount while Chelsea bought Alvaro Morata for a sum of Rs 1.2 crore. However, those sums pale in comparison to the sum that Virat Kohli earns.

Kohli’s weekly IPL salary is around £241,690 a week, Ben Stokes is second on the list with a weekly IPL salary of £209, 207 while MS Dhoni is 3rd with a salary of £201,456. At the IPL Auction, Stokes was sold for a mind-boggling Rs 14.5 crores. He was the most expensive player in the cash-rich tournament. On the football front, Belgian player Lukaku was sold to Manchester United for Rs 1.6 crore. In their current contracts at United and Arsenal respectively, Romelu as well as Lacazette will be earning around £200,000 a week. Morata will be paid £150,000 a week for his services to Chelsea.




18-year old Kylian Mbappe will be pocketing between £160,000 and £180,000 a week at Paris Saint-Germain. Frenchman Ousmane Dembele will receive £135,000 from new club Barcelona while PSG will be shelling out £222,000 for Neymar.
