The first semi-finals of the Vitality T20 Blast 2019 between Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire will take place at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Saturday at 10:00 am GMT.
Predicted Playing XI
Chris Nash, Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, Jake Libby, Samit Patel, Tom Moores (wk), Daniel Christian (c), Imad Wasim, Luke Wood, Mattew Carter, Harry Gurney
Jack Leach, Riki Wessels, Moeen Ali (c), Ben Cox (wk), Thomas Charles Fell, Ross Whiteley, Ed Barnard, Daryl Mitchell, Dillion Pennington, Charlie Morris, Patrick Brown
Alex Hales is always a dangerous batsman up top. Though he did not have the best of starts, he picked up and has scored 366 runs in 11 games in the tournament. Captain Daniel Christian is another vital player in the Nottighamshire unit. As for the bowling Harrey Gurney has led the line for them with 20 wickets in 11 games. Mattew Carter has also been amongst wickets and can be cheap alternative in fantasy games.
Since being dropped from the national team, Moeen Ali has been brilliant for his county club with both bat and ball. He is coming off a scintillating 121 against Sussex and his form & abilities point towards making him a captain in fantasy games. Ed Barnard and Patrick Brown have been decent with the ball for Worcestershire.
Captaincy picks: Moeen Ali, Alex Hales, Daniel Christian.
Weather and pitch report
It has generally been batting friendly pitches in the tournament and it shouldn’t be different for the semi-finals. Rain is expected to stay away unlike quite a few matches during the course of the season. With good batting conditions expected, it would be sensible to have top order batsmen in your fantasy team.
The last match between two was abandoned earlier this year. On four previous occasions, each team has won twice.
