Warner scoring 126 bettered his highest score in IPL: 109 he made against the Deccan Chargers in 2012 playing for the Delhi Daredevils. He was awarded the Man of match for his heroic display of valiant shots all around the park. He is now fourth on the list for most sixes in IPL.

Although all the limelight for yesterday’s opening partnership was garnered by Warner, Dhawan served as a stable partner and scored 29 runs. Though he was not able to score a half century himself, this pair has been involved in a record 5 such partnerships where both players have scored a fifty.

Both Warner and Dhawan are in the top 5 run-scorers for this season of the IPL with Warner currently in the possession of the orange cap with a margin of over 50 runs.
