Winning the toss and batting first, the Hobart Hurricanes lost early wickets and never really got going after that. Captain Matthew Wade held one end up coming to open the innings while wickets kept falling at the other end.

The Laughlin’s flying effort came in the 17 over when he was bowling to Clive Rose. Laughlin bowled a slower ball which Rose couldn’t time properly. The ball was in the air only for a brief moment and it was enough for Laughlin to leap onto it.

Later, Hobart got Bryant, Chris Lynn and Joe Burns in quick succession, making the chase a little interesting. However, wicket-keeper Jimmy Person and Ben Cutting made sure Brisbane went over the line comfortably. Ben Cutting was named the man of the match for his innings of 43 off 29 along with a wicket in the two overs that he bowled.
