WATCH: David Warner Expects a Dinner Invite from Virat Kohli

Australia cricketer David Warner loves everything about cricket in India. He visits India every year for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and knows about the country as well. He plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and recently talked about the series and the tough competition with India.

“To come here and play one day cricket is really special. It’s a great crowd that comes out to support,” he said. “You can play a different kind of game, a high tempo game and obviously it’s great competition. You got Virat, Rahul, Rohit. Bumrah is back, the team is going really well.”

However, he has shared a secret also. The father of three kids said that one of his daughters wants to be like India captain Virat Kohli. Warner praised Kohli and said he is a good competitor on the field. Moreover, he said that he’s expecting a dinner invitation from the India captain.

“I’m really looking forward to it and waiting for Virat to invite me over dinner,” Warner said. “Got my phone waiting here, Virat,” Warner added.

However, India are currently playing the three-match ODI series against Australia. India got a big blow in the first One Day International in Mumbai as Australia thrashed them by 10 wickets. Australia openers Warner and Aaron Finch chased down the total with ease with 37.4 overs where both of them smashed centuries.

India failed to live up to the expectations where fans demanded their favourite player –  MS Dhoni in the middle. The former India captain hasn’t played a single match ever since India’s exit from the ICC World Cup 2019 semifinal. Recently BCCI has excluded him from the central contract as well.

India will take on Australia in the second ODI on Friday at Rajkot whereas the third one will take place in Bengaluru on January 19.
