During the third T20I of the ongoing Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20I series in Lahore, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 13 runs and won the series as well on the back of a good show of Wanidu. Touring without their ten main players, Sri Lanka showed a dominating performance against the host who were looking in a good touch before the series.

After Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanka won the toss and elected to bat first, the visitors put up 147/7 in 20 overs on the back of Oshada Fernando’s stunning 78* off 48) with the help of eight fours and three maximums.

Chasing a total of 148 runs, Pakistan ended up scoring 134/6 in their 20 overs. While top-order batsmen in Babar Azam (27) and Haris Sohail (52) got off to a good start, their strike rate of 84.37 and 104 respectively put the team in a difficult position which eventually they failed to recover. Having registered a bowling figure of 4-0-21-3, Sri Lanka spinner Wanidu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka.

In the three-match T20I series, Hasaranga dismissed eight batsmen at an average of 9.87 with an economy rate of 6.58 and a strike rate of 9 and finished the series as the highest wicket-taker. His beautiful performance earned the 22-year old cricketer the Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards.

However, he was accompanied by Sri Lanka chief selector (as a translator) in the presentation ceremony. Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja, who was there hosting the ceremony, was seen asking for the translator for the first question from Wanidu Hasaranga.

India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin laughed at it and retweeted it with the caption, “Lmao morning!!” Even fans too started reacting on this.
