WATCH: Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic Give Marriage Advice to Rafael Nadal

A sportsman’s life is not always the easiest. Especially, when it comes to spending their time with their families. It is not an easy job to stare at an event and see your daughter’s birthday coinciding with a major tournament game. Or your first wedding anniversary falling on a day of you Grand Slam finals. Sportsmen have to be adept at finding ways to manage such things. For Rafael Nadal, who got married last month, such scenarios might only be on the rise.

His biggest rivals on the Tennis court- Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have been doing it for a few years now, and Nadal, like he has done many times on the court, has to try to match them in that respect as well.

In one of those rare occasions where the Big three are seen together off the court, Federer, Djokovic and Nadal were seen discussing this very aspect of their life.

Federer is many times accompanied by his family to different tours.

“I like it,” he told on BBC Breakfast about his family travelling along with him. “It’s the only way I can see it working for me to still stay on tour.

“The kids need to be happy on the road though. We have the four children, so a lot goes into it. It’s just a busy household and sometimes busy nights as well.”

“One of my kids was not feeling well and she was apologising to me- ‘I’m so sorry, I’m not feeling well.’ I am like, ‘don’t worry that’s what the parents are here for. If you’re not feeling well, we’ll get up too. It’s tougher when it’s just before a semi or a final against one of my big rivals.”

The trio also shared a jovial moment about the newly wed Nadal, who married his long time girlfriend Xisca Parello last month on an island in Mallorca.

“Good luck Rafa,” is what Federer had to say when he was asked to give some marriage advice to Nadal.

Nadal’s reply saying he needed the luck broadened the smiles on the faces of those in the discussion.

“I always thought I was going to have stop my Tennis career around 30s,” Nadal further said. “Everyone said they were going to have a shorter career. So, I thought after they’re going to start, but now, I don’t know. Maybe it is time to start now, you never know.”

A short silence followed when the Big three were asked about their retirement.

“It’s either all of us stop or none of us stop. That’s what it seems like,” Djokovic broke the silence.
