Earlier today, Ferrari [https://www.essentiallysports.com/category/f1/ferrari/] driver Sebastian Vettel was racing a fan on a simulator when things went very wrong for the German. On the main straight, he suddenly lost control and spun off the track. He clouted the barrier and then tried to reverse back onto the track. Sebastian Vettel only succeeded in spinning further and nearly hitting the barriers on the other side. The nightmare didn’t end there as he ran wide on the first corner and again, a little further into the lap. Luckily, he managed to stay on the tarmac for most of the lap, to his relief. It was fortunate that those silly errors occurred only on the simulator and not on the real track. Or else, Sebastian Vettel would be left very very red faced.

The Circuit of Shanghai is famous for its layout, which makes the race extremely thrilling.

The track measures 5.451 kilometers and has 16 turns. The circuit provides 56 laps that are covered in the entire duration of the race, which covers 305.066 kilometers.

This circuit is much more complicated than the other F1 registered circuits that exist. The first four laps that form the "snails" are the most challenging part of the circuit.

The other laps are considerably less complicated, with proper tactics of racing. The racers are fond of lap 7 and 8, which have chicanes that allow smooth overtaking.

For a long time, Bernie Ecclestone was the F1 supremo, having founded the Formula One Group. He?spent 40 years as chief executive of the company after gaining control of the commercial rights.

But in 2017, he stepped down and ownership was handed to Liberty Media who have been taking care of F1 since then. To herald their control, they even changed the F1 logo.

Chase Carey was the first F1 CEO in the 'liberty era' of F1 and will be stepping down at the end of the year. Former Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali will succeed the American in 2021.

Vettel came agonizingly close to clinching his first Championship with Ferrari in 2018, but his campaign fell apart towards the end of the season.

2019 was a difficult season for the German driver. Vettel had to put up with a younger, much faster teammate in Charles Leclerc while racing in a car that was uncompetitive and unsuited to his driving style. Scoring only a single win, Sebastian ended the season fifth in the Drivers' Championship.

The equation between Vettel and teammate <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/charles-leclerc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Charles Leclerc</a> gave the team enough trouble.

The 2020 season was put on hold due to COVID-19 but Vettel dropped a bombshell regarding his future at Ferrari. Sebastian Vettel officially announced that he and Ferrari would not be renewing their contract for 2021 and beyond. At the end of the ?2020 season, Vettel and Ferrari parted ways.
