MS Dhoni has been in the news for quite some times now – be it for his retirement speculations or his long absence from the circuit. Not only fans but his teammates are also missing him and the latest example is Yuzvendra Chahal.  In the latest episode of Chahal TV, India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal said that the Indian cricket team misses MS Dhoni a lot.

He shared this in the new episode featured on the team bus as the team were heading to Hamilton from Auckland. Chahal also shared that they leave a corner seat in the bus exclusively reserved for the former Indian captain.

“Yeh woh seat hai Jaha ek legend baithte they, Mahi bhai [MS Dhoni]. Abhi bhi yaha koi nahi baithta. Hum unhe bohot miss kate hai [This is the seat where one legend used to sit. No one sits here now. We all miss him a lot],” Chahal was quoted as saying in the video.

MS Dhoni made himself unavailable for selection following the ICC World Cup 2019. He missed the home series against West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh and recently Australia as well. However, he started preparation for the upcoming IPL recently with Jharkhand’s Ranji team. His fluent batting impressed the coach also.

India head coach Ravi Shastri has also commented on the future of Dhoni. He said Dhoni’s future depends on the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Moreover, the head coach of Indian team also said Dhoni may clear the air on his retirement after IPL.

Shastri also said that the former captain knows pretty well what to do and when. He also gave the example of his retirement from test cricket as he is not someone “who will impose on himself”.

Former India captain Kapil Dev has recently talked about the retirement of Dhoni. He said the retirement of Dhoni will be the loss for team India. He doesn’t want the 2011 World Cup-winning captain to hang up his boots anytime soon.
