Ahead of the RCB vs CSK match at 8PM tonight, the big question on everyone’s mind and lips is, “What of MS Dhoni?” the Chennai Super Kings skipper was on the bench in Chennai’s last game, against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Without Captain Cool to steady the ship, it sank faster than the Titanic.

Now, four days later, Chennai Super Kings go up against the Royals Challengers Bangalore. Tonight’s match will be held at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, so RCB have the home advantage.

What plays into CSK’s favour is Bangalore’s horrible run of form this IPL 2019 season. However, in turn, RCB will be banking on MS Dhoni to remain on the bench once again. MS Dhoni pulled out of the Sunrisers match, due to a sore back, and CSK paid for it.

Chennai Super Kings coach, Stephen Fleming spoke about MS Dhoni. He said, “He is a great player. Whenever a great player isn’t in your side, it means there is a hole to fill, and he has been in great form too,”

The Kiwi spoke about the adverse effect, Dhoni’s absence had on the team.

He continued, “So it does have an impact on your side, as well as the captaincy. You get used to a certain style of play and when you lose arguably your best player and your captain, you have to make adjustments but it doesn’t mean we are not competitive. We still turned out a very good side in the last game and got well beaten. We have just got to compete and be better than we were in the last game.”

Bangalore and Virat Kohli will also be boosted by the presence of a certain South African speedster, called Dale Steyn. However, it seems that MS Dhoni, may be back in action soon as he was reportedly spotted batting at the nets. Another bonus, was the return of Dwayne Bravo, who had previously suffered a hamstring injury.
