Wimbledon day 2 was full of thrill, upsets and power show. Here are all the highlights from day – 2 .

Big Guns


Roger Federer began his campaign with a 6-1 6-3 6-3 win over Damiz Dzumhur. It took Federer only 67 minutes to breeze into the second round. Rafa Nadal too won his encounter in straight sets. He defeated Thomas Bellucci 6-4 6-2 6-4. Up next for Nadal is a stiff challenge against Dustin Brown.
Andy Murray survived a minor scare and won 6-4 7-6 6-4 against Mikhail Kukushkin.
Power Show

The defending champion Petra Kvitova is off to a flier. She needed only 35 minutes to dispatch Kiki Bertens 6-1 6-0. The fastest victory by anyone on tour in past five years. One of the dark horses Angelique Kerber served two bagels against Carina Witthoeft.

Thrillers

In the match of the day, Jelena Jankovic defeated Elena Vesnina 6-4 3-6 10-8 after an incredible display of tennis from both players. The Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga survived a huge scare and prevailed over Gilles Muller in a five set thriller 7-6 6-7 6-4 3-6 6-2.
Upsets

The Canadian beauty Eugenie Bouchard succumbed to Yingying Duan 6-7 4-6 and continued her miserable form this year. Jana Cepelova pulled off the biggest upset of the day beating the third seed Simona Halep 5-7 6-4 6-3 in a gruelling match.
