Candace Parker began playing in the league fifteen years ago. She is still casting her spell after 15 years, making her a dangerous player. She is often regarded as the most recognized player in the WNBA.  Parker is classified as inactive on the Vegas roster due to surgery. The two-time NCAA champion power forward was selected first overall in the WNBA draft in 2008. Despite having high expectations entering the league, Candance stunned everyone by capturing MVP and ROTY accolades with the Los Angeles Sparks in her debut season.

Over the course of her fifteen-year career, Candace Parker has experienced several situations. One of these occurred during a game versus Tulsa Shock in 2013. The fact that Parker decided to discuss it ten years later was a most unexpected turn in a joyful game.

Candace Parker recounts a memorable event from the LA Sparks’ 2013 season: a 19-point comeback against the Tulsa Shock in double overtime. The Los Angeles Sparks were losing to the Shock. Nneka Ogwumike came to the game’s rescue in the fourth quarter, scoring six baskets in a row, a record in a WNBA game today.

With 44 seconds left, Ogwumike converted a breakaway layup to give the Sparks a three-point lead and seal the victory for her team, but the response of Candace Parker was surprising. Candace then proceeded to deliver an aggressive embrace, which resulted in a bloody collision. “When I hit, I knew it was going to be either a bump or blood because we hit really hard. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, I just saw her blood,” Candace said.

Candace Parker chose the wrong method to celebrate, resulting in a catastrophic injury for Ogwumike. Parker was unfazed, saying, “She was okay; she said she was okay, and then I immediately was like, Oh gosh, we’ve got a different bleeding stopped.” The change of events was completely unexpected, but everyone was relieved that both were safe. Candace will be remembered for her ability to inflict such horrific damage.
