When two teams meet, it is often just a matter of how they play on the day. After all, it would be difficult to imagine the top team completely dominating each other on a regular basis but sometimes this can happen and one team just cannot get a win against a particular team. Here is a compilation of some of those unexpected results in IPL that will surprise any cricket fan.

KKR faced Mumbai Indians three times in IPL 2017 itself but lost all three matches including the qualifier match.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab Total matches played till date: 21 The overall Win-loss record for KKR vs KXIP: KKR won 13 out of these 21 games (61.90%) and while KXIP won 8 matches (38.10%). Total matches played till date: 6 The overall Win-loss record for RPS vs MI: RPS won 4 out of these 6 games (66.66%) and while MI won just 2 matches (33.33%). Mumbai Indians may look in a rut against RPS but they had the last laugh by winning the IPL final, where it really counted. This year RPS defeated MI three times including Qualifier 1 but when they met for the 4th time in the final, MI won the match by one run to claim the title.
