However, she faced an early exit.

Halep’s punishment was reduced to nine months following her hearing at the CAS a few weeks ago. This meant that the 32-year-old could resume her tennis career as she had already served out the remainder of the ban. Darren Cahill has recently expressed his disapproval of the ITIA. Cahill coached Simona Halep for six years and was instrumental in her rise to the top of women’s tennis and her Grand Slam victories.

The Australian tennis coach called on tennis organizations to improve their protocols to avoid making players like Simona Halep suffer. He also retweeted a tweet from Halep’s attorney, Howard Jacobs, who rebuked The Times and one of its writers for their analysis of the CAS ruling.
On the other hand, he shared a clear review of how ITIA made the wrong decision to ban the Romanian tennis player, which caused harm to her tennis career. However, there are other things that the former world number one has to deal with amid her return to the tennis circuit, as Caroline Wozniacki recently questioned Halep’s place in the Miami Open.

Wozniacki has previously expressed her opinion that players who test positive for doping shouldn’t be given wildcards. She made it clear that her comments were about promoting fairness and honesty in the sport rather than being directly addressed to the Wimbledon champion of 2019. Wozniacki said, “I’ve been very outspoken in the past how I feel about doping and all of that.”
Along with that, she also added that she respected Halep’s position on the matter. However, she highlighted her thoughts on how it would be better if players worked their way to the top from the bottom.
Subsequently, when the two-time Grand Slam champion was asked about the remark, she made her stand quite clear. She replied, “I didn’t even think about that subject anymore and I can only repeat that she should read the decision better and if she doesn’t understand someone translate her.”
