Sports professionals have a strict routine surrounding their lives. Their diet is quite stringent, and it cannot be broken often. But sometimes, they can’t help but indulge. Some players are foodies and yield to their desires once in a while. Jessica Pegula is someone who falls in that category. Now in Japan for the Tokyo Open, she recently shared what she loves to eat with the audience.

Along with Pegula, there is another WTA star who is a big foodie. Garbine Muguruza loves to divulge within the limits of a sports professional. While she has a fixed diet, it isn’t as strict as many others. Joining her is Pegula, who revealed her favorite choices in Japan.

Jessica Pegula reveals her foodie side

The American star is on a new level this season. Pegula is currently in the form of her life and is aiming to take the Tokyo Open title with herself. In the first round of the tournament, she beat Cristina Bucsa in straight sets and moved on to round two with no difficulty. After the match, she gave the post-match interview, where she was asked if she had a favorite food place in Tokyo since she loves Japanese food.

 

The world Number 4 player replied with “Yes, shabu shabu“. Further, she was asked which sauce she preferred better, Ponzu or Sesame. The American player straightforwardly stated, “Sesame“. When asked if she was planning to visit another restaurant till the time she was in Tokyo, Pegula said, “Yes, I’ve already eaten Shabu-shabu. I will hopefully go again, maybe tonight.”

While Pegula is on the top, she treats herself to great food whenever she can. But the American star is not the only tennis player who is a foodie.

Garbine Muguruza on flexible diet

Being constantly on the tour, one needs to make sure they have a good diet to make sure they get all the appropriate nutrients required. Garbine Muguruza is the same and follows a strict schedule pre-tournament and during a tournament. But when she is not actively on tour, her diet is not as strict, and she likes to indulge in a variety of foods.

She loves hamburgers, pasta, fish, and potato dishes. While she does follow a diet plan, she does not deprive herself of eating foods, which she does whenever she wants to. Even after being active in the sport for long, both players don’t deprive themselves of their cravings.
