Recently, the 42-year-old American tennis legend’s childhood coach revealed the doting father’s number one quality, stating that his friend was the biggest strength behind the Williams sisters’ success.

Rick Macci, who nurtured Serena and Venus into what they are today, made a huge revelation regarding King Richard. He took to his Twitter account to share an incident nearly two decades ago. He revealed how the 81-year-old American coach, not only thought about tennis but also thought about educating his daughters.

He wrote, “The number one quality of Richard Williams was the importance of EDUCATION to @serenawilliams @Venuseswilliams. Every day he would weave this into the equation. Even when VEE made her EPIC debut in 1994 she spoke to 3 public schools about you guessed it EDUCATION. What a DAD!”

Subsequently, he wrote on Twitter, “Richard Williams was the same exact guy/dad every single day for 4 years. Determined passionate funny smart different loving caring serious focused unpredictable and very confident. He never ever blinked. I LOVE THIS GUY. RICHARD WILLPOWER!” 

The 68-year-old American coach first met the Williams sisters in 1991. Since then, both of them have shared a healthy relationship and played a crucial role in the iconic sister’s dominance in the tennis world. Although Macci is one of the most celebrated coaches of all time, he never misses an opportunity to praise another celebrated coach, his friend King Richard.
