Throughout her remarkable career, renowned ESPN anchor Hannah Storm has endured numerous storms. But none could be as difficult as her cancer fight. However, she received comfort and direction from an unexpected source during this personal struggle: Chris Evert, fellow ESPN commentator and tennis legend. Knowing how important the fundraising event was, Evert decided to travel despite her own health issues. Storm appreciated this and said, “Chrissie has been through so much chemotherapy and surgery the last few years and doesn’t usually take on voluntary travel, but she agreed to make a rare trip for the fundraiser as a favor to me and my husband Dan Hicks.
