However, Pegula isn’t the first American tennis player to make it to the list issued annually by Forbes. Even her compatriot, Sloane Stephens, was previously included in the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 edition. The former world No. 3 player made headlines after enjoying a triumphant campaign on her home soil at the 2017 U.S. Open. Stephens, who also won the 2015 Citi Open, has bagged a number of endorsement deals with popular brands like Head, Under Armour, and Precision Nutrition.
Just like Pegula and Stephens, another WTA player, Madison Keys headlined the Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ sports class in 2019. The 28-year-old won two titles in that season after enjoying triumphant runs in Charleston and Cincinnati. Keys, who is a former US Open finalist, has secured sponsorship deals with brands like Acuvue, Nike, and Wilson.
