Before their first-round matches, Townsend shared a fangirl moment on Instagram where she walked with a poster of Pegula with the former third-ranked player’s signature on it. While the 68th-ranked player was happily carrying the post, she said, “Look what I got, I got an autographed picture of Jessica Pegula…I am winning in life. We made up, she really loves me again.”

The 27-year-old openly expressed her happiness while highlighting how, after receiving the autograph of such a valuable tennis player, she definitely won as a person. Not only that, she also highlighted how both of them share a lovely and warm relationship, emphasizing how even Pegula carries genuine admiration for her.
Both of them are not just compatriots but, at the same time, share a good friendship in such a way that a few months ago, during the China Open, the 27-year-old made a hilarious question to Pegula over her dominance in the ring toss games.

Taylor Townsend couldn’t help but ask Jessica Pegula a lighthearted question at the China Open last year after seeing how dominant she was in the ring toss competition. Before the competition started, a promotional film showed several tennis players playing a competitive game of ring toss, including Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur, and Pegula.

In those games, the 30-year-old American player played the game in perfection and almost managed to get all the gifts. Looking into that, her friend wrote, “@jpegula you play [beer emoji]-pong or what,” on the WTA post, which shared highlights of the event. Not only that, even Pegula replied with a series of laughing emojis, creating a lighthearted moment between the two.
