World No.1 Ashleigh Barty and Iga Swiatek both advanced to the pre-quarters of the Mutua Madrid Open 2021 today. The Round of 16 or the pre-quarters will begin on Monday and one of them will be an encounter between Barty and Swiatek. Fans are really exhilarated about the clash and as it it is the battle of the last two French Open winners.

Ashleigh Barty is currently on a 13-match winning streak on red clay. She recently survived a tough battle against Tamara Zidansek in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open 2021. After losing the second set in a humiliating manner, she came back strong in the decider. As a result, she won the match in three straights with the final scoreline of 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.

On the other hand, Iga Swiatek enjoyed an easy win over Laura Siegemund in the second round of the tournament. She thrashed her in straight sets. However, she had to wait a little longer for her win as it came after the Polish player earned her 11th match-point.

Barty has a lethal forehand, which definitely will be a big obstacle for Swiatek to overcome. However, the Polish too has a good and high serve which can cause a lot of trouble to the World No.1 player.
