Venus and Serena Williams will forever remain two of the greatest stalwarts of female tennis. In fact, between the two of them, the sisters hold a combined 30 Grand Slam singles titles.

Of course, their life was never without struggles. The newly-release biographical drama ‘King Richard’ depicts exactly that. Moreover, it is told from the perspective of their father, Richard Williams.

Isha Price, sister to Venus and Serena Williams, talks ‘King Richard’

Isha Price is the half-sister to Venus and Serena Williams from their mother’s side. She is an attorney at law and handles many of Venus and Serena’s business affairs and dealings.

In fact, Venus and Serena are the executive producers for the movie ‘King Richard‘. Thus, the production of the movie included Isha as well.

In a recent post by Venus Williams on her Instagram, Isha Price made an appearance. She acknowledged how little she appears on social media with Venus. Then, she proceeded to read comments from her Instagram live appearance. Furthermore, she entertained questions from fans and her followers and responded to them.

Towards the end of the live presentation, a fan appreciated the movie that the sisters made. “It was so heartwarming, the movie about your dad and Serena (Williams). I cry,” the fan said.

To this, Isha replied, “Yeah, I think we all shed a couple of tears.” Then, she described the experience and joy of making the movie itself. “It was really a way of us being able to give a love letter to my dad of sorts. It was an incredibly enriching thing to work on,” she shared.

She further shared the difficulties the sisters face in making the movie. “Sometimes it was just hard- it was really challenging to revisit some of the things that happened to us along the way,” Price shared.

The Williams sisters prioritize mental and emotional wellbeing

Isha then continued talking about how cathartic the experience was. Moreover, it was also beneficial for the sisters, emotionally. “Facing those things and talking about them is also good for your mental and emotional health,” she said.

“Talking about wellness with Venus or wellness with Isha, mental or emotional health is a very, very, very important thing for us to talk about and get into,” she said.

Both Venus and Serena Williams have been outspoken about the importance of mental health. In fact, both sisters have also done their part in increasing awareness and opportunities for amplifying the importance of emotional and mental wellbeing.
