Naomi Osaka opens up about her daughter months after becoming a mother

Becoming a mother is truly life-changing, and it must be the same for Naomi as well. The 25-year-old tennis star became a mother to a daughter a few months back. She has, however, never revealed even the name of her daughter to the world. Well, up until now, she didn’t.

During an interview with ESPN, Naomi shared details about her little one. She even shared the name of her daughter which is ‘Shai’. Further, she added, “Shai means God’s gift and I think that’s why I wanted her to feel like she was a gift to me and her dad [rapper Cordae]. She’s spreading a lot of joy already, so it’s very exciting.

Having a kid means everything to a parent. But the journey to becoming a mother is never easy. And Naomi went through the same thing. During the same interview, she also talked about how she struggled while she was pregnant.

Naomi expresses how she felt ‘lonely’ during pregnancy

The former world No. 1 has been out of tennis for a while now. And now it is finally her time to make a comeback, probably in the Australian Open in 2024. However, before she stepped into it, she shared how it was for her to be pregnant and away from tennis.

Osaka told people at ESPN that she only knew tennis. Her whole world revolved around it. And being away from it made her feel lonely. She could not train and play while others were doing all the things she loves. This made her feel resentful.
