Sisters, Venus and Serena Williams owe a lot of credit for their success to their father, Richard Williams. At an early age, Richard gave it his all to develop his daughters into world-class tennis players. The sisters have created many records and achieved some remarkable feats in their careers. However, the journey was never easy for Williams. The family went through a lot of emotional ups and downs.

Richard Williams once spoke in detail about Serena’s critical health condition, which made him fear for her life.
When Richard recalled Serena’s critical illness
Recalling a painful memory from 2011, Richard spoke about the critical health condition of Serena when they got to know that the 40-year-old had several blood clots in her lungs and needed to go through a life-saving operation.
“I just thought she was going to die, just too much,” He said.
Further, he said that his priority was Serena’s life, and he was not concerned about tennis anymore.
“She helped me paint a fence. tennis wasn’t on my mind, but hoping that my daughter would live, was on my mind and getting her to do something. My wife and Serena painted the fence. And Serena felt better, I believe, from that day on.” He added.

Serena, however, made a strong comeback and hasn’t looked back since.

Serena Williams’ comeback and the road to Wimbledon 2022
23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams recently made a comeback after a long hiatus of almost 1 year. The 40-year-old participated in the Eastbourne doubles, partnering with world number 3 Ons Jabeur. However, their campaign was cut short because of an unfortunate knee injury to Jabeur, subsequently forcing them to pull out of the remaining tournament.

Serena Will direct her focus on the upcoming Wimbledon Championship now. The former world number 1 will take on Harmony Tan in the first round of the tournament.
