Emma Raducanu may only be 19, but the British tennis star is already among the most-talked tennis players on the women’s circuit. Her stocks have been on the rise ever since her triumph at the US Open last year. She defeated Leylah Fernandez of Canada to claim her maiden Grand Slam title. Moreover, she did it in a dominating fashion, without dropping a set during the entire campaign.

It was one of those fairytale runs that every teenager dreams of. Subsequently, Raducanu entered the top-25 of the WTA rankings. Recently, she was involved in a hilarious moment during the ongoing Italian Open.

Emma Raducanu swears in Italian

The British tennis star is in Rome to participate at the WTA 1000 Italian Open. During an interview, she opened up about learning the Italian language. Talking about this, she said, “I did, like (swears in Italian)… Is that a bad word? Oh my friend told me that one. Don’t cut that out. What does it mean? I just sworn on camera (laughs). Oh my god.”

On the tennis front, Raducanu has endured a disappointing campaign thus far by her standards. She opened her season this year at the Sydney Tennis Classic, where she lost in the opening round. Further, she had a dismal Australian Open campaign, losing in the second round against Danka Kovinic.

Subsequently, her campaign was cut short in the third round and the second round in Indian Wells and Miami, respectively. During last week’s Madrid Open, Raducanu went down fighting against Anhelina Kalinina in the third round.
