As a Legendary Figure in American Soccer Bids Farewell, Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian and Billie Jean King Send Their Heartfelt Messages

The US Women’s Soccer National Team bid farewell to one of their biggest players recently. Megan Rapinoe played her last match for the team and went out in great style. Her career was lauded by the world, especially by Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams. The entrepreneur is a big fan of women’s soccer and bid farewell to one of the stars of the USWNT.

Also joining him in congratulating Rapinoe is Billie Jean King.  The co-founder of Reddit is greatly inspired by Rapinoe as he follows her on social media. Witnessing the message she left for her fans, he could not help but share his own tribute for the player.

As the USWNT wrapped up a friendly match against the team of South Africa, they bid farewell to one of their star players. The 38-year-old player from California played her final match with the national team and gave a fantastic assist for a goal. She was substituted during the match, and the entire stadium cheered for her as she passed on the Captain’s armband. 

After the match, she walked down the player’s walk in a stylish fashion as music played. The video of the event was shared by the official Instagram page of the US women’s team. Alexis Ohanian saw the video and decided to congratulate the player in her fashion. He shared the video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Legendary career @mrapinoe. Congrats! Best is yet to come“.

Ohanian wasn’t the only one who cheered for Rapinoe. Billie Jean King, a legend of WTA, also lauded the soccer star on her career. She shared a collage of Rapinoe on her Instagram story with the caption, “Cheers to your retirement from soccer, @mrapinoe! We’re all looking forward to the next phase of your journey. Keep it up.”

As he shares a tribute to the American player for her last match with the national team, he also congratulated her when she first shared the decision to retire.

Alexis Ohanian shares tribute for USWNT star player

Earlier this year, in July, Megan Rapinoe stated that she had decided to hang up her boots after the season ended. The 38-year-old has given it her all for soccer and has decided to go out all guns blazing. Her announcement was followed by messages where people appreciated her decision and congratulated her on her career. Ohanian also lauded the player as he wrote, “You have So much to be proud of!“.

The Reddit co-founder is a big fan of the player. He has followed her career with much excitement and is even inspired by her to a great extent. Now that she is retiring from soccer, Ohanian has nothing but respect for her.
