Creating those dream matches with stars who could never face each other keeps the wrestling fire burning. The WWE 2k games have done a great job of keeping this fire going. However, a new player, AEW’s Fight Forever, has entered the chat. With WWE 2K24 rumors making the rounds on the internet, let’s look at the stats of both games.

WWE 2K23 was released on March 14, 2023. Developed by Visual Concepts and published by the studio 2k. The game was released on all platforms, did very well commercially, and was praised by critics. It was also the first game to feature the WarGames match.

AEW Fight Forever was released on June 29, 2023. It is the first game based on the AEW wrestling promotion. While the developers released it on every platform, it did not do as well as WWE 2K23. Many critics and fans criticized the lack of modes and presentation as its downfall. But what about the stats?

The social media account of The Wrestling Blog put out a post comparing the success of both games. Being in the same genre, the two are in direct competition. While fans of the games already knew who the winner was going to be, the stats were shocking to see.

AEW’s game had only 11 active players, while WWE had 1261. In 24 hours, AEW got only 18 active players, while the WWE had 1418. The gross revenue of the AEW game was $1.6 million, while WWE’s game accrued $6.1 million. The total units sold were also in WWE’s corner with 156,000, whereas AEW sold 36,990. Even the reviews were in WWE’s favor, with 79.3% compared to 65.2%. This all bodes well for WWE 2K24 as anticipation grows day by day

The future looks bright for WWE 2K24

While WWE 2K24 has not yet been announced, the game is in development. Fans expect a March 2024 release date, like the one they got this year. The hype for the game is already building, with fans expecting some new features or a tribute. With the passing of Bray Wyatt, fans hope the WWE pays some tribute to the Eater of Worlds in the next game.
