The internet was set on fire when Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Mone made her highly anticipated debut on NJPW on January 4 at the Tokyo Dome during the Wrestle Kingdom. Appearing in the ring at Battle in The Valley on February 18th was her first in-ring flight since May 2022, following her infamous departure from WWE.
However, there was already much speculation in the air about the new NJPW star making her way to AEW. Finally, it gets more inevitable with the listing of the Forbidden Door 2 by spectrum cable.

The unexpected absence of Sasha in the AEW Dynamite left many fans heartbroken but much to their comfort, there is still a way for the former WWE star to wrestle under AEW as there are again rumors about The Boss appearing at AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view event, this summer.
Last year, AEW Forbidden Door was a massive success despite being a last-minute arrangement. Fans were even craving for a follow-up event. Amid the confusion surrounding the possibility of a second Forbidden Door, a US cable TV company seemed to ruin the surprise by listing the Forbidden Door 2 on June 24, Saturday alongside Double or Nothing, WWE WrestleMania, and a few more. However, there is no public confirmation yet.

Tony Khan gave a hint earlier
A week ago, AEW’s CEO Tony khan also hinted about the event during an episode of kilq podcast. He was asked about the likely prospect of Forbidden Door 2 and AEW’s alliance with the NJPW. Khan noted, ‘we always build up this big event, AEW and New Japan coming together, Forbidden Door, and I think Forbidden Door 1 was a big success. We’re looking forward to doing it together again. They send a lot of their top stars to AEW and to Ring of Honor, and I love working with them. I think it’s been a great relationship and there’s a lot of trust between the parties.’

The host also asked him if fans can expect AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2 soon. While not giving any clear affirmation, Khan chose to take a middle tone by saying, ‘yes I think so.’
However, today’s listing from spectrum cable only doubled the existing hope for a Forbidden Door 2 and the current IWGP Champion, Sasha Banks’ much-awaited debut to AEW.
